Thank you for taking the time to read our Constitution and By-Laws. We serve a God who is a God of order, and as such, we hope that through this document, we would set the direction of order as God expects from His people.   • ARTICLE 1: NAME

    NAME

     

    Section 1. This spiritual body of Christ shall be known as HIS VINE FREE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH.

    Section 2. The use of the name “Free Seventh-day Adventist,” as the privilege and prerogative of this spiritual body, was and is fully recognized by court order dated July 6, 1923 by the Chatham Superior Court in and for Chatham County, State of Georgia.

  • ARTICLE 2: GOVERNANCE

    Christ is the Head, Foundation and Cornerstone of this Church and we, the individual members, make up His body.   • ARTICLE 5: Membership

    MEMBERSHIP

    SECTION 1. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP. In order for any church, body of believers, ministry, home study group, individual, etc. to be considered as a member, subsidiary or confederate of this Church, they must covenant with God to adopt Articles 2-4 as their own standard of faith and abide by the principles of the gospel set forth therein, allowing the Holy Spirit to form the character of Christ within themselves as individuals and in their respective groupings.

  • ARTICLE 6: executive board

    EXECUTIVE BOARD

    SECTION 1. The Executive Board of this Church shall be no fewer than 5 in number, and shall have power to organize itself by choosing a chairman, secretary, and treasurer, whose duties shall be such as usually pertain to their respective offices. It shall also have the power to appoint all necessary agents and committees for the conduct of its work. Such work will be done through much prayer and seeking the Holy Spirit to lead and guide in all of its functions.

    SECTION 1. This Confederation (any and all churches, home groups, subsidiaries, individuals) shall meet once a year for a time of fellowship, praise, and worship, or as the need may arise from time to time as directed by the Spirit of God, at such time and place as the Confederation shall designate after much prayer and consideration.   • ARTICLE 8: trustees, committees, and agents

    TRUSTEES, COMMITTEES, AND AGENTS

    The voters of this Church shall, at each regular session, elect the trustees of such corporate bodies as are, or may be connected with this body of faith, according to the respective State laws governing such bodies; and this Church shall employ such committees and agents as it may deem necessary, according to the by-laws in such cases made and provided after much prayer and seeking after the direction of the Holy Spirit.

    DROPPING MINISTERS AND WORKERS

    Section 1. It is the expectation of all concerned that any person, ministry or church desiring to become a part of this Confederation under God would only do so after prayerful consideration of, understanding of, and only after covenanting with God, to believe and live Present Truth as clearly set forth in Appendix A and B.   • ARTICLE 10: by-laws

    BY-LAWS

    The voters of this Church may make by-laws, and amend and repeal them as led by the Holy Spirit. The scope of such by-laws may embrace any provision not inconsistent with the Constitution.

  • ARTICLE 11: amendments

    AMENDMENTS

    This Constitution may be amended by a three-fourths majority of the voters present at any meeting, provided that, if it is proposed to amend the Constitution at a special meeting, notice of such purpose shall be given in the call for such.

TITHES AND OFFERINGS

 

SECTION 1. The Church is to receive tithes as a self-supporting ministry to support the work of the pastor/elder, and the work of evangelism world-wide. It is also to receive offerings to support the day-to-day expenses of the church. The Church is God’s Storehouse and giving above and beyond the requirements of God as set forth in Article 13 of the Statement of Beliefs is to be done according to the unction of the Holy Spirit given to the individual giver. 2Corinthians 9:6, 7.

BOOKS AND RECORDS

 

SECTION 1. The Church will keep and maintain complete books and records of accounting. The Church will comply with all State and Federal regulations as it is required to do so in this regard that men may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven. Romans 13:2-6; 1Peter 2:13-16.
